It has been a long and winding road which has brought me to embark upon this exciting venture. With a career ranging from paralegal to newspaper publisher (and a lot of stops in between), I am excited to be a part of a company that will now allow me to enjoy the more creative part of my nature. It seems that as I reflect on my background, all my career paths have somehow involved writing and telling a story. So what a pleasure for me to now be part of a venture that will help create the settings for the stories people tell, the backdrop for the special events in the lives of our clients.
The dream of starting this company was ignited by the challenge of collecting vintage china for my children’s weddings. We searched antique shops far and wide for just the right style of dishes and décor and found that search to be rather time consuming, sometimes frustrating and certainly expensive. After collecting more than a hundred place settings of Depression glass dinnerware, boxes and boxes of lanterns, silhouettes, and all kinds of vases and candle holders, we found ourselves surrounded by either the beginnings of a business or a great yard sale.
As for me personally, Evermore was the natural next step. My love of antiques, sparked by my mother’s love of all things vintage and beautiful, drew me to the desire to share our collection with others and to contribute in some way to spreading the beauty of the past into the promise of the future. The accumulation of our rental items has been a labor of love for us and it is a joy for me to have the opportunity to share these pieces with our clients.
Through my background in advertising sales and office management, I worked closely with small businesses and realized how much I loved helping people work toward their dreams. That, along with my great love of antiques which I inherited from my mother and my grandmother, has led me to this line of work.
When I was a small child, my grandmother’s house was filled with antiques. One of her passions was to collect beautiful china, such as Depression glass, Flow Blue and Bavarian china. So, this is not just a business to me, it is a way to honor my grandmother’s memory. There is just something special about an item that has stood the test of time and still retains the stunning quality that first set it apart. After all, isn’t that the very thing that every bride wants for her marriage?
